The Guinness Night football challenge Nairobi region is scheduled to take place on 13th December 2019 at the Woody Gardens & Lounge along Kiambu Road. The Nairobi Guinness night football event comes after successful regional events in Kisumu at Simba Club Union, Machakos at Club Leo and Nakuru at Grill Park.

The night of festivities is part of the brand activities that have been enabling residents to participate in the amateur Five-aside night football tournament for a chance to win Ksh. 50,000 in the regional events.

Nairobi teams will compete to determine the regional winner. The Nairobi regional winner will then compete with Stream Football Club from Kisumu region, Young Ghetto Football Club from Mountain region and Black Jubil Football Club from the rift region to determine the national winner. The national winner will have an opportunity to represent Kenya, in Lagos, Nigeria for the Pan-African tournament.

Kenya Breweries Limited Marketing Manager – Guinness, Ms. Nduku Wamakau said, “Guinness is all about communism; sharing with friends. The brand has over time, been at the forefront of expanding our consumer experiences. These are among the many ways we are continuing to offer extra-ordinary experiences to them.”

Some of the artists lined up for the night will include Khaligraph, Samidoh, Boondocks, Ethics, Ochungulo Family. MC Pengele will host the event.

To be part of the event, customers will be required to buy a ticket redeemable with two 500ML Guinness at the point of entry.

The 12-week campaign dubbed Guinness Night Football aims to give consumers an opportunity to represent Kenya in a pan-African tournament in Lagos, Nigeria. It is an initiative of Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), Guinness and Diageo. The campaign encourages football fans to either participate for a chance to win or watch for their love of football.

The winning team from Kenya will represent the country alongside a team from Uganda and host Nigeria. The three teams from the three countries will battle it out for the ultimate crown and the winner will face off with Rio Ferdinand’s celebrity team. The games will be aired live on  DSTV.

The first regional tournament was hosted in the Lakes region where Stream Football Club emerged winners after defeating Kotoko Football Club.
