Women did well last year with bloggers such as Jamila El-Jabry, Maryann Waweru, Rachael Muthoni, Diana Kaluhi, Rayhab Gachango , Dr Wandia Njoya, Nyawira Mumenya, and Tabitha Mwangi emerging winners. The awards also witnessed first time winners Magunga Williams and Owaahh clinching the Kenyan Blog of the year and Best Topical Blog respectively.
Blogs can be submitted in only one category that they fit best. New blogs however, (those started in Jan 2017) onward, can submit their blog in the New blog category and in another category in which they fit.
