Kenyans had a strong showing at this year’s Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF) winning 10 awards in different categories. Among the winning Kenyan entries included Supa Modo, New Moon by Philippa Ndisi-Herrmann, Pendo by Faith Musembi and The Yard by Moses Owiro.

Women filmmakers impressed at the event, taking home a total of 10 awards, with the documentary Silas directed by Anjali Nayar and Hawa Essuman taking home two awards; Best Documentary and Best International Film.
