Users on the app are able to order anything that is available on the app (clustered in different categories). The categories include Snacks & Juices, Drinks, Markets, Gifts, Restaurants, and Personal Care. In addition, users can use the Anything tab on the app to order anything that is not available on the app. They also have a courier category that allows users to send things as long as they can fit on a motorbike.

Glovo is available on Android, iOS and on web. Available payment options on the service are Cash on delivery, M-Pesa on delivery and Credit/Debit Card.

The company recently onboarded Simbisa Brands’ portfolio of food and eatery outlets onto its platform. The brands include Pizza Inn, Chicken Inn, Creamy Inn and Galitos. The company also announced that it had raised €150 million (Ksh. 16.993B) in Series D funding led by international venture capital firm Lakestar for expansion within the Sub-Saharan Africa market.

Glovo was founded in 2015 in Barcelona and has since then expanded operations to 3 continents i.e. Europe, Africa, and South America. The service is present in over 20 countries and more than 100 cities. Kenya became the 3rd African market for Glovo in 2019, after Morocco and Egypt, that launched last year.
