On Thursday last week at a whisky dinner in a Nairobi restaurant, Chivas unveiled The Venture – a global search that seeks to support start-ups in the country. The Venture has set aside over Kshs.100M towards the success of start-ups that will make a positive change in the lives of others. The venture will assist these start-ups with both resources and funding.
Chivas The Venture has been around since 2014 and has so far seen applications from over 3,500 candidates. This is the first time that Chivas is taking in Kenyan start-ups. This puts Kenya among 32 countries around 6 continents to participate.
The Venture is inspired by the founding brothers, James and John Chivas, based on their realization that success is richer when shared with others. It is with this generosity and entrepreneurial mindset that Chivas the Venture was born.
The value of getting some necessary push from experts in terms of funding and resources cannot be underestimated. Do you have a start-up? Head here and apply for what could turn out as the opportunity of a lifetime. The period for submissions ends on 30th November 2016.
After submissions, a panel of judges will take the task of looking into the selections and coming up with finalists to represent Kenya at the global stage in 2017.
