Video on demand service Showmax has launched a Mobile Only package for just Ksh. 375 per month for its customers in Kenya. Using the mobile package, customers will be able to stream video content on Showmax through smartphones and tablets.

The Mobile Only package is perfect for those who prefer streaming Showmax on their smartphones or tablets on the go. Only one smartphone or tablet can access Showmax at any time on the Mobile Only plan, and content is not available in HD. But Mobile Only customers have access to the entire Showmax catalogue, including live sport streaming.

What is there to watch on Showmax?

Showmax offers a line-up of TV series, movies, kids’ shows and documentaries and it has recently introduced sports content that includes pre-recorded and live sports.

TV shows on the platform include a mix of new and old shows, from Watchmen, Godfather of Harlem, The Twilight Zone and Power to The Handmaid’s Tale, Mayans MC, Good Trouble, Insecure, Modern Family, Empire and South Park. Kiddie content on the platform includes Zog, Blurt!, Rags, Angry Birds Toons, Here Comes Garfield, The Tom and Jerry Show, Paw Patrol and Blaze and the Monster Machines.

Kenyan content on the platform includes movies like Supa Modo, Plan B, Nairobi Half Life, Veve, and TV shows such as Selina, Monica, Njoro wa Uba, Sue na Johnnie, and Varshita.

The movies available currently include Crazy Rich Asians, the Rocky Movie collection, Rampage, The Meg, Smallfoot, Duck Duck Goose, Daddy’s Home, Life of the Party, Sarafina, Mr Bones, Sisters In Love and Alter Ego.

How to get Showmax’s Mobile Only package

  1. Go to www.showmax.com and create an account if you don’t have one.
  2. Navigate to the subscription section https://secure.showmax.com/v97.3/website/payment/products
  3. Choose the Mobile Only package, which is only Ksh 375.
  4. Choose the payment option. Available options are Safaricom M-Pesa, Debit Card and Credit Card.

Showmax was launched in South Africa in 2015 and it became available in Kenya in October 2016 with subscription video on demand (SVOD). It has thousands of hours of video content that also includes Kenyan and African content. Showmax is available for streaming via web, on a variety of apps (iOS and Android) and also on smart TVs.
