Showmax has over 10,000 hours of content and interestingly a lot of Kenyan and African content possibly sourced from their sister company DStv.

They have servers in data centres in Kenya which should speed up delivery of their content in Kenya. They are also working with Safaricom to launch a Showmax data bundle.

Showmax was launched in South Africa in August 2015 and is available in 36 countries in Africa and 65 countries worldwide.

Showmax will compete with Netflix in Kenya which has a bit of a headstart having launched here earlier.
