Concert celebrating Luther Vandross to be held on August 30 at Braeburn Theatre

The Tribute Series has announced that it will host an Evening Remembering Luther, a concert remembering the late great Luther Vandross, on 30th August 2019 at the Braeburn Theatre. The concert will feature some of Kenya’s great musicians to pay homage to Luther.

This concert will pay homage to Luther’s 35-year career; from his vocals and distinct singing style to costumes to styling to the stories behind the music.

An Evening Remembering Luther will feature artists that include; Noel Nderitu, Webi, Ayrosh, Dan Aceda, Isaac Kimani, Pete Odera and Ciano Maimba, Lisa Noah-Oduor, Kendi Nkonge, Manasseh Shalom and Janice Wanjiru. The Remembering Luther Band is made up of notable musicians such as Richard Wandati on Drums, George Nyoro on Keys, Sedar Malaki on Bass, Newman Owuor on guitar.

Remembering Luther partners and sponsors include; Classic 105 Kenya, Smooth FM, Mayers, House of Fotography, JGIP Consultants and Fezah.

The Tribute Series was founded by June Gachui and it features a musical showcase honouring living and fallen musical legends. Last year, on 15th September 2018 at the Braeburn Theatre, The Tribute Series paid homage to the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. Previously featured musicians in the series include Regina Re-Gitao, Atemi Oyungu, June Gachui, Silayio, Lisa Oduor Noah, Sage Chemutai, Kavutha Mwanzia-Asiyo, and Mumala Maloba.

An Evening Remembering Luther will be at The Braeburn Theatre on Friday 30th August 2019. It will start from 7pm and it will end at 11pm. Tickets are Ksh. 2,500 and are available here mookh.com/event/an-evening-remembering-luther.
