Safaricom and USIU-Africa have been announced as winners of distinct categories at The African Excellence Awards 2017. The awards were created to honor the most outstanding achievements of communications and HR professionals throughout Africa. It recognizes organizations whose activities have undertaken to promote and expand their PR and Communication strategies.
Safaricom Limited went home with the Brand Relationship category award and came second in the Internal Communications category. It was all thanks to their brand creation and launch of BLAZE, the new youth network that earned them the Brand Relationship win. Safaricom had also been awarded Best Multi-Market Communications and Best Microsite for its Capture Kenya campaign last year.
USIU took home the prize for the Crisis Communication category. This is their second award, as they were previous victors of the Science and Technology category back in 2015.
The Awards are part of a worldwide implementation of Excellence Awards, being rolled out in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America and North America simultaneously.
