GOtv reduces its prices and adds channels in Kenya

Just a few months after announcing a price increase, Gotv has made a hasty retreat and made a reduction on the prices of their packages. The price of Gotv Value bouquet has gone down by 28 percent from Ksh. 650 to Ksh. 470 per month. For the Gotv Lite bouquet which airs free to air channels, customers will now pay Ksh.160 per month or Kshs.375 per quarter or Ksh. 840 per year down from Ksh. 2,200. Gotv Lite subscribers will also get access to two new channels that are Emmanuel Tv and SuperSport Blitz.

The price of Gotv Plus which is the premium package however remains the same at Ksh. 920 per month. Subscribers to this package will get access to 3 new SuperSport channels namely, SuperSport 5, SuperSport 7 and SuperSport 12 which are dedicated to the broadcast of the Olympic Games.

This reduction in price must have been informed by a lower uptake from new and existing customers who felt that they were not getting value for money after the price increase. This is mostly because Gotv has over time removed some of the interesting channels from their bouquet while at the same time increasing the prices.
