Over 200 golfers are expected to compete this weekend at the Vetlab Sports Club and be part of the ongoing KCB East Africa Golf Tour. The 18-hole course will see action get underway at 6:30 am where golfers from Nairobi and its environs battle it out for the top spots. The afternoon tee is slated for 2:30 pm.

Teams from Burundi, Kakamega, Uasin Gishu, Nairobi, Mombasa, Nyeri, Kericho, and Nandi Counties have already secured their places in the tour’s grand finale in December.

The Kenyan edition of the KCB Golf Series has reached close to 1,000 participants and over 500 juniors who take part in the clinics that run concurrently with the series. This year, KCB is targeting 3,000 participants and 1,500 juniors in the 24-leg amateur tournament.

KCB has also partnered with Beulah City, a property firm, to gift an apartment in the Ikhaya Beulah Genesis project valued at Ksh. 2.1 million as the hole in one prize for every winner during the 2024 tour. This prize adds excitement to the competition, with golfers standing a chance to become homeowners.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s series, Club Captain, Vincent Landa said, “KCB has played a pivotal role in elevating golf in the East African region through its golf series. For the second year running, we are part of this amazing initiative that will go a long way in fostering the golfing culture in Kenya and beyond. We expect a huge turnout despite the rainy season in the country and we urge golfers to come enjoy our well-kept greens.”

On her part, Rosalind Gichuru, KCB Group Director Marketing and Communications said, “Our investment in golf is aimed at giving an opportunity to budding golfers to learn the ropes of the game, to hone their skills and to compete locally, regionally and internationally further cementing our status on the global map as a favourite golfing destination.”
