Peter Arina has been appointed as the new CEO of NSE listed firm East African Cables. Peter replaces George Mwangi who has stepped down after 7 years at the helm.
Peter was previously the General Manager, Consumer Business at Safaricom. As the GM, he was in charge of non-voice revenue streams such as mobile data, PRS VAS and Skiza. Peter worked at Safaricom for the 11 years in different positions before raising to the general manager’s position. He left Safaricom as part of a restructuring that saw his position taken over by Sylvia Mulinge.
East African Cables, which saw its profits dip to Ksh. 341.1 million in 2014, is building a new factory in Nairobi to produce medium voltage wires.
