quarter-life-crisis

When something bad happens, you have three choices; you can either let it define you, let it destroy you or let it strengthen you….”

I want write. Be free in my own space with only my mind as my companion and my spirit as my guide. I want to do a lot of things that I feel I can’t do right now. I’m confused.

You’ve probably heard of the midlife crisis. “Midlife crisis” is a term coined in 1965 by Elliot Jaques stating a time where adults come to realize their own mortality and how much time is left in their life. This happens to folks mainly in the 40s onwards or sometimes in their 30s. Introducing the quarter life crisis. This is a period of life following the major changes of adolescence, usually ranging from the late teens to the early thirties, in which a person begins to feel doubtful about their own lives, brought on by the stress of becoming an adult. A lot of my age mates are in their quarter life crisis phase especially having just graduated and deciding on what to do next. So here are a few tips I picked up from various sources to guide you through this phase.

1. Don’t give up hope

2. Find a new activity

3. Surround yourself with positive people

4. Seek professional help

5. Believe in your abilities

6. Change what’s not working

7. Figure out what you really want

8. Take it one day at a time

9. Treat your body right

10. Join a club or group

These are not set in stone as the way out but should sure give you a head start on your journey.
