Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o has just won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the movie ’12 Years a Slave’ defeating American Hustle’s Jennifer Lawrence who bested her at the Golden Globes.
Lupita Nyong’o becomes the first Kenyan to win an Oscar and the second African to do so after South African Charlize Theron.
Congratulations Lupita, this is quite an achievement.
