It’s back again! Those fabulous three days where designers showcase the beautiful projects they’ve been working on in fashion shows and fashion exhibitions. Models, designers, buyers, high profile personalities, media and bloggers along with well-known fashionistas come together to view current collections, network and  often quite commendably, raise funds for charity.

As Nairobi Fashion Week gets underway in the coming weeks, fashionistas across the city will be trying to outdo each other on the red carpet. We expect an exciting fashion show-down, with great trends being set and  incredible new steps made in Kenya’s fashion industry.

In this year’s NFW which happens to be the third edition, 15 great designers are slated to showcase their 2016 summer collections .The communication team stated that this season’s event will be the most memorable in NFW’s entire history.

“We have award-winning designers coming from South Africa, Ghana and Kenya. They’ve worked so hard and this is the moment they’re unveiling their collections.”

Designers to look out for this year’s event include Accra-based Bertha Owusu a former Miss World Ghana whose label Lumiere Couture was feted in the just concluded included Glitz Style award, England born renowned Kenyan Milliner Chloe Mitchell whose outstanding caps have been worn by Lupita Nyongo. Chloe’s collection is made up of versatile pieces in vivid hues of colors and designs, as well as Maryam Oliech of M’oliech Fashion House a contemporary women’s wear label made up of sustainable textiles with a focus on perfectly-executed tailoring and attention to detail. Returning to NFW are Yvonne Odhiambo of Afrostreet Kollektions, Atelier Iyke Williams of Dee Iyke Fashion House from Accra Ghana, among others. Seeing many local designers achieve success yet still return to NFW every season is uplifting to the fashion industry as NFW offers them exposure on the international fashion stage.

The event will be at the Garden City mall. The regular tickets to the Nairobi Fashion Week   are going for Kshs.1,500 while the V.I.P tickets are going for Kshs. 4,000.00.
