Rubis Energy Kenya has officially opened applications for its highly anticipated 2026 Young Graduate Trainee Program. This 18-month leadership incubator is designed to identify and groom the next generation of professionals ready to navigate the complexities of the global energy market.
Rather than simply filling entry-level roles, this program is structured as a fast-track career path for ambitious Kenyans who possess the technical grit and commercial mindset required to lead.
The program is far from a standard internship. It is a structured curriculum that promises to turn high-potential graduates into seasoned business professionals. The 18-month experience is anchored by three core pillars:
- Cross-Functional Rotations: Trainees will move through various departments, gaining a 360-degree view of how a major energy player operates—from supply chain and technical operations to marketing and finance.
- Direct Mentorship: Each participant is paired with senior industry executives, providing them with a rare opportunity to learn from the decision-makers shaping Kenya’s energy future.
- Regional Exposure: With Rubis’ expansive footprint, trainees will contribute to strategic projects that have a direct impact on the company’s regional operations across East Africa.
The program is looking for versatile candidates across a wide array of disciplines, including:
- Engineering: Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Mechatronics.
- Business & Commerce: Finance, Marketing, Economics, and Business Administration.
- Specialized Tracks: Supply Chain Management, IT, and Law.
To be eligible for the 2026 cohort, applicants must have graduated within the last 24 months with a minimum of Upper Second-Class Honors. A strong foundational background is also required, evidenced by a KCSE Mean Grade of B+ or above. Candidates must be 26 years old or younger and demonstrate a natural aptitude for leadership and analytical problem-solving.
