The 2026 NCBA Golf Series continues its momentum this weekend as it heads to the pristine fairways of Sigona Golf Club for the ninth leg of the season. Over 260 golfers are expected to tee off this Saturday, April 25.
With the stakes higher than ever, competitors will be battling for more than just bragging rights. The event serves as a critical gateway to the season-ending Grand Finale, scheduled to take place at the Karen Country Club on November 28.
The Sigona leg is guaranteed to produce a fresh storyline this year, as the tournament prepares to crown a new overall winner. This follows the departure of 2025 champion Sandeep Matharu, who has officially vacated his amateur status to join the professional ranks.
Golfers will compete across several categories, including:
- Overall Gross Winner (Men and Ladies)
- Overall Gross Runners-Up (Men and Ladies)
- Third and Fourth Best Overall Gross
- Junior Winner
A total of six golfers from these categories will secure their coveted slots for the November finale.
Speaking ahead of the event, NCBA Group Managing Director John Gachora reiterated the bank’s commitment to the sport’s development. “The NCBA Golf Series continues to provide an inclusive platform that brings together golfers across different levels,” Gachora said. “It reflects our continued commitment to developing golf, nurturing talent, and supporting the broader sporting ecosystem in Kenya.”
Among the top names to watch is Golf Park’s Amos Odongo. Fresh from a victory at the NCBA Masaku Open last weekend, Odongo is in peak form and enters the Sigona leg with the ambition of securing two consecutive wins on the trot.
As the race for the Grand Finale intensifies, the Sigona leg promises a day of high-quality golf and intense competition, further cementing the NCBA Golf Series as a cornerstone of the national amateur circuit.
