Tatu City has announced that it is starting production of European quality windows, doors and facades to meet surging demand from home and business owners at the 5,000-acre new city.

The joint venture with MDN Fasady, a Polish design and aluminum metal works firm, was announced during the Polish-Kenyan Business Forum, organised by Kenya Investment Authority (KenInvest) and Polish Investment & Trade Agency to foster stronger economic ties between the two countries.

The aluminum metal-work joint venture will also serve the wider Kenyan market, according to Piotr Smolarz, the firm’s managing director, with windows, doors, facades, shop windows, terrace covers and skylights. “This partnership signifies the vast potential that Kenya holds for business development and investment in high-quality building solutions,” Smolarz. “We are thrilled to harness the strengths of Tatu City and MDN Fasady to establish a cutting-edge aluminum metal-works production facility.”

The new joint venture is already tapping the market at Tatu City, where more than 3,000 apartments are completed or under development. The Kijani Ridge premier neighbourhood has nearly sold out, and Eneo at Tatu Central, the award-winning commercial and retail development by Gateway Real Estate Africa, opens its first phase in November. Eneo’s anchor tenant is CCI Global, one of Africa’s largest international customer management services providers, which will employ 5,000 young Kenyans at its ultra-modern call center in the complex in Tatu City.

“Our JV with MDN Fasady will not only meet the demand for world-class windows, doors and façades in Tatu City, it will supply all Kenyan consumers demanding beauty and durability for their homes and businesses,” Alex Kahu, Head of Construction & Development at Tatu City. “In addition to boosting the local economy, it will contribute to advancing the aluminum metal-works production industry in Kenya.”

“Kenya is an attractive investment destination. With 70% of our population being very educated youth, productivity levels are high, as reflected in their skills. The country has invested significantly in educating its people, which has resulted in a highly skilled workforce. Therefore, if you are looking for access to the African continent, Kenya should be at the top of your consideration list,” June Chepkemei, Managing Director of KenInvest.

More than 40 Polish companies from different industries attended the Polish-Kenyan Business Forum, showcasing Kenya as a globally attractive hub for trade and investment. Tatu City and KenInvest continue to strengthen their partnership to attract foreign direct investment to Kenya. Last week in Beijing, China, KenInvest and the Kenya-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted the Kenya-China Business Forum, where China’s Zhende Medical announced additional production facilities at Tatu City and its neighbouring Oaklands development – an investment totalling over USD 180 million.

Dozens of companies operate in Tatu City’s business-friendly location, including Kenya Wine Agencies Limited, Dormans, Copia, Cooper K-Brands, Grit Real Estate Income Group, Twiga Foods, CCI Global, Freight Forwarders Solutions, Friendship Group and Davis & Shirtliff. More than 3,000 homes and apartments are occupied or under construction at Unity Homes and the Kijani Ridge premier neighbourhood.
