poa! internet which is a community internet service provider has announced that it is set to double its network coverage with the launch of services in six new areas of Nairobi and Kiambu counties. These new areas include, Ndumberi, Githunguri, Dagoretti, Waithaka, Kinoo, Kikuyu and Racecourse. This will be followed by the launch of six additional networks across other parts of Kenya thus making it, five times its current size in a span of a few months.
The expansion programme is set to move poa! Up the rankings to become one of Kenya’s top tier internet companies. The latest report from the Communications Authority of Kenya placed the ISP at 4th place with a 7.5% market share.
poa! offers their home broadband customers unlimited internet of speeds up to 4Mbps for just KES 1500 per month and has maintained the same price since 2017 at a time when other ISP’s have raised their prices.
Andy Halsall, CEO of poa! had this to say, “Our entire business model is based on continually delivering low cost unlimited internet access to those areas that are otherwise poorly served. We are expecting to maintain our current exponential growth throughout 2019, and confidently expect to enter the country’s top tier internet providers this year.”
