Emirates has launched a new feature that on its app that allows its customers to create movie and music playlists ahead of their flight and sync it to their seats once on board.

The airline has 4,000 entertainment channels and has a catalogue of over 1,000 movies, tens of thousands of music tracks, podcasts and games.

Customers can be able to watch popular content such as Supa Modo, I Am Not A Witch (Zambia), Farewell Ella Bella (South Africa), The Lucky Specials (South Africa), Liyana (Swaziland), Broken Promises 4ever (South Africa) and The Royal Hibiscus Hotel (Nigeria).

African music playlists available on ice include Dj Ganyani’s House Grooves, Best of Yvonne Chaka Chaka, African Pop Mix, Diamond Platnumz’s A Boy from Tandale, Burna Boy’s Outside, Davido’s Son of Mercy EP and WizKid’s Sounds from the Other Side.

This latest functionality on the Emirates app elevates the customer experience even before they step onto the aircraft. Our customers can now browse the unmatched content on offer and create personal entertainment playlists at their leisure, and once comfortably settled in their seats on board, they simply sync and press play.”

The entertainment syncing capability of the app is currently available on over 100 Emirates Boeing 777 aircraft. It will be made available across the entire fleet, including A380 aircraft in the coming months.

The Emirates app includes features that allows customers to book flights, hotels, car rentals, tours and attractions. They can browse through their flight’s menus and wine lists up to a month before the departure date.

The Emirates app is available for download on iOS or Android.
