Safaricom has today announced the launch of Ndoto Zetu, an initiative aimed at transforming the lives of communities across the country for the better. Interestingly, the initiative came about when Bob Collymore the Safaricom CEO was challenged by Churchill to support the Divas Power Initiative.

Divas Power initiative was founded by Moesha Kibibi a professional dancer with the FBI crew. Having lived in the streets for some time, Moesha decided to start the initiative with a view of encouraging girls and showing them that they could pursue and achieve their ambitions.

According to Safaricom, Ndoto Zetu is all about supporting Kenyans who are doing extra ordinary things for their communities like what Moesha is currently doing. The initiative is looking out for projects to support and of these they will select 500 projects which will be supported.

Bob Collymore, the Safaricom CEO had this to say at the launch, over the years we have invested in big projects, however, we realize that these projects require longer lead times to complete, while some of the smaller community needs can be solved fairly quickly when we partner with the likes of Moesha and other like minded Kenyans who are passionate about improving livelihoods.”

If you feel that you have an idea that can impact the society positively, make a written submission here or you can visit a any Safaricom retail shop countrywide and fill in application forms.

The deadline for submissions is Saturday 6th April 2019.
