Safaricom has posted a net profit for the financial year ending 31st March 2018. This is up 14.1%
from the Ksh. 48.44 profit reported in the previous financial year.

Revenue increased to Ksh. 233.72 Billion up from Ksh. 212.89 Billion in 2017. Revenue from M-PESA & Mobile Data continued on an upward trend with revenues of Ksh. 62.9 Billion and Ksh. 36.4 Billion respectively.

A dividend of Ksh. 1.1 per share has been recommended by the board which will translate to a total payout of Ksh. 44.07 Billion. This is up from Ksh. 0.97 per share in 2017.

The company shared that it invested Ksh. 36.4 Billion in the financial year ending 31st March 2018. It estimates that it will invest between Ksh. 35 Billion to Ksh. 38 Billion in the current financial year. Between 2012 and 2018, the company has invested Ksh. 191.4 Billion into its business.
