Supermarket chain Carrefour plans to open a store at the Sarit Centre mall in April 2018. It will occupy the space vacated by Uchumi Supermarkets.

The store location, i.e. on the ground floor of Sarit Centre, will apparently be temporary the supermarket chain plans to move its operations to the new wing of Sarit Centre which will be open by the end of the year.

Carrefour opened its first store in Kenya in 2016 at The Hub in Karen. It has since opened three more stores at Two Rivers Mall, Thika Road Mall and The Junction with advanced plans to open at TRM.

Carrefour is operated by Majid Al Futtaim, a shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure company that operates in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Majid Al Futtaim owns and operates 22 shopping malls, 12 hotels and three mixed-use communities.
