Vivo Energy Kenya last week launched the Shell Rimula R6 LM 10W – 40 a fully synthetic heavy duty diesel engine oil formulated with dynamic protection plus technology. This is an addition to the already existing Shell Rimula products albeit specifically targeted towards heavy duty diesel engines.

The new oil variety features Low SAPS additive technology and a unique anti-wear and tear system. Protective power in the oil has also been enhanced through the use of synthetic technology.

Here are some of the benefits of using Shell Rimula R6 LM 10W 40;

Low wear and deposits

Shell Rimula R6 in comes with unique additive technology that enables high levels of piston cleaning which is essential for long engine life. This is because an accumulation of deposits on the engine block and pistons can ultimately lead to engine failure.

A unique anti wear booster helps lubricate the moving parts of the engine preventing unnecessary wear and tear. This booster helps meet the demanding wear protection of most European, American and Japanese engines.

Fuel Economy

The Shell Rimula R6 low viscosity than other oil brands ensure that all moving parts are properly lubricated and work with ease. This reduces the amount of effort that is needed to move these parts thus resulting in fuel saving.

Maintenance Saving

Shell Rimula R6 meets the long drain requirements of Mercedes Benz, MAN, DAF trucks among others, from the latest Euro 6 to older generation engines. Basically, the oil gives you more kilometers between oil changes thus allowing operators to optimize maintenance schedules and also control/reduce maintenance costs.

Emission System Compatibility

The oil contains an advanced low ash formulation that helps control blocking or poisoning of exhaust after treatment devices. This ultimately helps a vehicle maintain vehicle emission compliance and fuel efficiency.
