Lenovo through its subsidiary Motorola Mobility yesterday announced the launch of their Moto Z smartphone. The phone comes with a military aircraft grade aluminium and stainless steel casing which is ultra thin and light at just 5.2mm and a 5.5 inch Quad HD Amoled display. It comes with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon TM 820 processor, 4GB of RAM and 32 GD OR 64 GB of storage inside. This can however be expanded to up to 2 TB using a microSD card.
Moto Z comes packed with a high resolution 13 MP back camera with optical image stabilization and laser autofocus. This should help the user to take good photos in any light and condition. It has a 5MP front camera that includes a wide lens and a flash.
The phone comes with a water repellant coating which shield the phone from rain or accidental spills. However, don’t go swimming with it as it is water repellant not water proof. It promises upto 30 hours of battery time which I would like to test.
The most interesting thing about this phone is the Moto Mods which enable one to enhance the capabilities of the phone. The Mods include Hasselblad True Zoom this enables one to add imaging capabilities to the phone on the go. It features a 10x optical zoom and a Xenon flash. It gives you more control and flexibility with the ability to shoot in RAW format in addition to physical shutter and zoom controls. The JBL SoundBoost Mod offers high quality JBL sound boost that gives the phone a stereo sound in a snap. It includes a kick stand to prop the phone as you play your music or watch a video. Insta Share projector allows you to project upto 70” on any flat surface allowing you to share videos and photos with your family. Lenovo have an introductory offer where if you buy a Moto Z you will be given a free Moto Mod.
