While opening Elite Pro Shop in Mombasa along Moi Avenue next to the Tusks in Mombasa, Sales Manager for Nikon Middle East Narendra Menon, stated that the coastal region has numerous beautiful sceneries that could be captured using the right equipment to market the country as a tourist destination point and prime for film industry to thrive. He continued to state that Africa is an emerging market with great opportunities for growth of film industry but there was lack of exposure, guidance, training as well as inaccessibility to the best film equipment.

Nikon has a school initiative which trains local photographers for free regularly and all one needs to do is register and becomes eligible to attend a session. Currently Nikon has presence in 30 countries in Africa

Kenya accounts for about 40% of East Africa’s Gross Domestic Product, as well as having remarkable scientific and technological achievements over the last decade; and is therefore an ideal country to invest in. This is a great step for the photography and technology industries in the region, and can definitely get the wheels turning in the whole of East Africa.
