M-Net East Africa has a treat for its subscribers this December. They have disclosed plans to roll out its first family focused reality TV game show dubbed Beat the Challenge. This is the first TV game show in almost a decade that is centered on families within the East African region who will be competing against each other to emerge the ultimate winner in a game that requires more of brawns than brains.
Beat the Challenge intends to pit 12 families together in various categories towards accomplishment of several tasks that do not include general knowledge. Former Big Brother Africa housemate Gaetano Kagwa and popular Tanzanian artist Jokate Mwegelo will both host the show.
While announcing the TV show, M-Net East Africa Regional Director Mr. Michael Ndetei confirmed that Beat The Challenge is the first TV reality show that brings families together with an objective of team work towards accomplishment of tasks that may vary from changing of car tyres to other activities that require more of physical challenge than mental tasks..
The show will feature a family of four i.e. Father, Mother and their two children aged between 12 to 17 years . The families contest in challenges that are physical in nature and each strives to outdo the other to emerge the ultimate winner of a family car. The families will be picked from the three East African countries i.e. Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania and battle it out to be the pride of their nation. The winning family will drive away with a brand new car alongside other cash prizes.
To be eligible to participate in the game show, one must be a permanent resident of East Africa and must be within a family set up of four including both parents and two children aged between 12 to 17 years. Beat the Challenge is the second major reality TV show set to debut on Maisha Magic this coming December after Tujuane Plus, a dating show.
