Andrew Wambua

Most people know Andrew Wambua through the band Afrology. He started performing in 2008 and has performed at Blankets and wine as he makes the transition into being a recording artist. He recently released his first single “Nipe Pendo” which received massive airplay on local stations.

Andrew is back in the limelight with his second release “Mangulet” off his upcoming album. “Mangulet” is the kamba pronunciation for “Margaret”, Wambua’s native language.

Mangulet, a different “afro-house” track with Wambua’s signature, silky, smooth harmonies. It has a catchy beat that leaves you wanting to bob your head and sing along. The song which was produced by Kagwe Mungai) is about love and Andrew definitely puts his efforts in telling Margaret how he feels about her.

When you listen to the song it’s very obvious where Andrew draws his inspiration from. There is a feel of Eric Wainaina in the song. Wambua is also inspired by the likes of Freshlyground, Sauti Sol, John Legend, Jessie J and Mafikizolo. The song has little bits and pieces of this in it.
