Asus has announced a number of new hybrid gadgets at the annual Computex event in Taiwan. The lineup for these products include the Transformer Book V, Transformer Book Flip and the Transformer Book T300 Chi.
The product announcements come at a time when the industry has been experiencing a growing demand of converged products.
According to the company the Transformer Book V is a revolutionary gadget that will address the challenge of handling multiplicity of products by consumers.
“Over time consumers have always wanted to carry a Smartphone, a tablet and maybe a laptop PC or an Ultrabook on a single platform. The Transformer V, which is the future of convergence, solves this as it merges the three products, all into one.†Said Asus Kenya Country Product Manager, Mr. Chris Wen.
The Transformer Book Flip is a laptop with 360- degree touch screen that flips in an instant for use as a powerful laptop a responsive tablet or anything in between. TheTransformer Book T300 Chi on the other hand is a detachable 2-in-1 laptop with a slim profile.
Other products announced at the trade show event include Asus Fonepad 8 (FE380CG), featuring the latest 64-bit Intel Atomâ„¢ Z3560 1.8GHz quad-core processor, the LTE enabled version of the Asus MeMoPad 8, the Zenbook NX500 with a 4K/UHD (ultra-high-definition) display, RT-AC3200, the world’s fastest tri-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi router, and ProArt PA328Q, a 32-inch 4K/UHD monitor.
Other than the Transformer Book Flip which is expected to be launched in Kenya in July, the launch dates and pricing for all the other devices have not been revealed yet
