Kenyan afro pop band Sauti Sol, will be among a few selected African stars who will be joining on stage French Montana, Miguel and Trey Songz, at the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs) this weekend in Durban, South Africa. MTV Base revealed that Sauti Sol join the final acts added to the crazy talented line-up at the influential music awards ceremony. Sauti Sol, who are set to release their third album “Live and Die†later this year have been nominated for a MAMA for the first time this year. They are in the Best Group Africa category alongside P-Square, Mi Casa, Big Nuz and Mafikizolo.
Legendary stand-up comic, film and television sensation Marlon Wayans is to host MAMA 2014, which will be held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, this Saturday 7th June. The event will premiere on MTV Base (DStv Channel 322), MTV (DStv Channel 130) and other partner channels around the continent from June 2014.
Other Kenyan nominees at the MAMAs are Lupita Nyong’o and Amani.
