The 1st hackathon for 2014 is finally here and it’s all thanks to Nailab. The incubation centre alongside Lakehub and in partnership with the ICT Authority will on the 16th and 17th of May host the Nailab Kisumu hackathon at the Kisumu Hotel.

The 2 day event targets to bring together 100 tech entrepreneurs from the western region to develop solutions themed on health, unemployment and Insecurity.

“We as Nailab hope to grow collaborative development among the entrepreneurs in the region and also assist the entrepreneurs better the quality of solutions developed by offering them a chance to interact with mentors and coaches and other professionals from the region during the 2 day event.” Says Josephine Mwangi Nailab’s communications manager.

“This is also a great forum for the entrepreneurs within the region to meet and get to interact with fellow entrepreneurs and also get to know the tech bodies within the region that are at hand to assist,” she added.

This is the second of many outreach events that Nailab anticipates to hold throughout the country to help promote an entrepreneurial culture in society and also get to understand the needs of the tech communities in the region. It is also a great opportunity for the incubator to get to understand the different challenges the tech communities face in the likelihood of setting up satellite incubators throughout the country.
