@Anyixbaby

We had a few questions for her and this is what she had to say:

1. What was your first phone?

Alcatel, OT 311. I was in form three when mum bought me that phone, that thing was so cute then but its so ugly now. Lets just say that back then I was still cool-peeps 🙂

2. What do you prefer? Facebook or Twitter? Why?

Twitter any day, any time. That’s because it gives me a chance to be our own editor-in-chief. I take what I want and I put up what I want, and the 140 characters policy is amazing! It pushes anyone towards creativity,or at least that’s how I see it. I also love Twitter’s mystery. You are never too sure of your followers gender.
Also love Twitter because it connects any two people of similar minds, I mean its either you are following a friend, or a stranger who’s mind you love or you are a stalker.

FACEBOOK? That’s the ultimate stalkers corner. I gave up on it, I really want to shut down my account if not start afresh.

3. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself aging beautifully, just like my elder sisters. I see a happy-me. I see a strong woman who has a lot of experience, in the world of journalism both Print and Broadcast. In the same measure, in the field of Love, i hope to have settled down with that special someone. To cut the long story short, my potential then will be beyond borders and i mean that in all semantic ways.

4. Any question for us? We’ll publish our answer as well

Why do you guys ask everyone the same damn questions? Also, let me know of the best thing you guys like about me… I am vain like that 🙂

  • We thought it would be fair for everyone to be framed in the same light 🙂 As for the second [extra] question, We like the fact that your name starts with the letter “A”. Moving on swiftly, on to Number 5…

5. What would you do if you were president for a day?

I would feed all hungry kids, and take all the ones who still dont go to school, to school. I would buy all the village kids Haribos, Marshmallows and Toblerone just so one day they would remember that they had a cool president-chic who bought them stuff they really didn’t need just so they could feel special. I believe in equality and especially when it comes to kids. They are innocent and no kid deserves any less than any other. They all should be treated like the future that they are.

6. Whats your favourite book & movie?

Books- That would have to be ‘The Alchemist- Paolo Coelho’ (I especially loved the Egypt and desert path, really good book to help you find your purpose in life) ‘Love in The Time of Cholera’ was golden! SIGH. ‘100 years of Solitude’ was also great. Visit my blog for some of the quotes from those Gabriel Garcia Marquez’ books.

Movie- Lion King, Titanic, 50 First Dates, Inglorious Bastards and IP Man. CLASSICS!! The story lines, the directions and producing techniques! I will watch them over and over till I am 100 years inshallah.

7. Who inspired you to do what you do now?

My mother. I work hard to make her proud. She worked hard to give me everything i have so its only fair that i return the favour. My ability to chat, also got me where I am today. I want something, i ask for it while already ready to volunteer. I never asked for something I could not give as talk is cheap. My prowess in languages also got me where I am today, I can do well in articulating issues whether written or spoken. I being a journalist just happened. For all I knew in the past, I was going to be a lawyer, a musician, an architect and even a hotelier. I could still be all those things. I just roll with whatever the world throws at me.

8. If you were to change jobs, what profession would you get into? Why?

Wow, I like it where I am already. Guess I would go back to past- Anyiko and become what I wished I would become then. A lawyer so I could help prosecute evil people. A musician so I could display the soul in me- too bad my career is still stuck up in the shower. An architect just so I could design some kickass mansions and be so rich. A hotelier because I was once a waitress and I actually loved that job, seeing customers satisfied was a good feeling at the end of the day, plus the tips topped it up 🙂

9.If you had a superpower, what would it be?

Now this is the best question anyone has asked me in a long time. I would want to read people’s minds. Also I would love to change the course of time like Hiro Nakamura (Heroes) That’s because it’s in our greatest use of words that we hide our inner feelings, it would all be better if I could just read inside of you. As for the time, I would go back just to spend a day with my Dad and another one with my friend Mulwa so I could tell them that I loved them and always will. God rest their souls in peace.

10. If you were deserted on an abandoned island what 5 things would you want to have?

  • A ‘River Island’ bag 🙂
  • In it will be two magazines, Arise and New African Woman.
  • An Ipod with all my music
  • My notebook
  • A Biro.

11. If you were a car, what car would you like to be? Why?

A Murano or a BMW X6. They look too good from behind.

12. If you could be in any band in the world, which one would you like to be in? Why?

Kings of Leon, so I could have sex with a girl and ask her,”so was it on FIRE?’ OK, I kid! I just love Kings of Leon too much, they are cool, calm, never mushy and not too hard or too soft.

Kings of Leon

13. Share something interesting about yourself with our readers.

I once went into a recording studio, yeah to do an actual track. The producer said “Haiwes make …” That was a few years ago, it broke my heart.

Last December I won a singing competition, I beat over 15 contestants! True story, ask @JBonyo @Jamesmurua @Mwanikih & @Philipogola! So who is laughing now? Lets just say that I was blessed with Drive, Spontainety and Adventure.

Deuces!
