The Safaricom Chapa Dimba All-Stars wrapped up their week-long Spanish tour on a high note, with the boys’ team securing a 4-2 victory over hosts SD Huesca U20. The friendly match, played on Sunday at the SD Huesca Academy Grounds, was a perfect ending to the team’s international football camp.

The Kenyan All-Stars delivered a stellar performance, with goals from Denzel Omollo, Armstrong Omondi, Brian Aroka, and Baraka Rodgers. While SD Huesca managed to score two goals, it wasn’t enough to stop the Kenyan side from clinching a memorable 4-2 win.

“This has been an incredible experience,” said player Baraka Rodger. “The one-week elite camp has broadened our mindset and changed how we approach the game. Experiences like these are crucial for young players like us.”

The 24 players, scouted from this season’s regional and national games, participated in a comprehensive football bootcamp. They underwent masterclasses, training sessions, and friendly matches at SD Huesca’s world-class facilities. The squad also attended a professional match and took part in cultural tours.

Fawzia Ali, Chief Consumer Business Officer at Safaricom, highlighted the value of the trip. “Our youngsters have gained invaluable exposure to professional football training and experienced what it means to train in modern, world-class facilities,” she said.

The Spain tour marks the end of Safaricom Chapa Dimba Season Four, an initiative that has successfully nurtured Kenyan football talent. This season alone, over 10 players have been scouted to join national teams and professional clubs, including Brighton Anyona (Gor Mahia) and Brian Aroka (Tusker Youth), showcasing the program’s impact.
