MultiChoice has announced a partnership with Safaricom, allowing Safaricom customers to access exclusive TV shows, movies, sports, and documentaries on Showmax and DStv Stream. The strategic collaboration brings premium entertainment directly to Safaricom customers, enhancing their viewing experience with convenience.

Under the partnership, Safaricom Home Fibre customers can now access and watch exclusive content on DStv or via USSD code *400#. Safaricom customers also get to enjoy a one-month subscription voucher for Showmax Mobile or Showmax Entertainment once they purchase any Go Monthly plus plan via *544*37#.

Interestingly, the English Premier League will be available to customers both at Home via the DSTV Stream Proposition, and on the go through Showmax. To catch the EPL, customers will enjoy the exclusive mobile-only subscription that grants access to all games for an affordable monthly fee of Ksh. 450 for 3GB via the Showmax X Go Monthly Plan. The Showmax EPL+ data plan offers customers a chance to watch the English Premier League live, enabled by 3GB bundle per month to support their viewing.

Home Fibre customers will enjoy up to 10% discount on DSTV Stream subscription packages that combine home fibre and DSTV premium content. The packages give them access to over 90 entertainment, news and sports channels. This partnership comes at a time when consumer demand for digital entertainment is on the rise, with more people seeking flexible, on-the-go access to high-quality content across multiple devices. The collaboration also seeks to support local content creation that resonates with diverse audiences across the country.

To access the refreshed Showmax content via the Safaricom partnership, users will have to dial *544*37# and create an account or sign in using their email address and password, enter their Safaricom mobile phone number and click on next. Enter their M-PESA PIN on their phone to approve their payment. They will then receive an SMS confirming payment and start enjoying Showmax content.

To access DSTV Stream, Home Fibre customers will dial *400#, select DSTV then select the DSTV plan they wish to purchase. They will then select their Home Fibre plan and thereafter confirm their plan and price. Upon confirmation of the selected plan and price, they will enter their M-PESA PIN on their phone to approve their payment and receive an SMS with their DSTV Stream link to sign up/log in and activate their DSTv subscription.

Nzola Miranda, Managing Director for MultiChoice Kenya noted, “Today is a significant milestone in Kenyan entertainment landscape. Two industry giants, in telecommunications and entertainment will from today deliver unparalleled convenience and value to our customers. This partnership underscores our commitment to offering world-class content while leveraging Safaricom’s innovative technology.”

On his part, Peter Ndegwa, CEO Safaricom noted, “This strategic partnership between Safaricom and MultiChoice marks a significant milestone in how our customers will access premium content from the comfort of their homes or smartphones. As a digital lifestyle enabler, we are keen to leverage our extensive 4G and 5G network, as well as increasing uptake of home fibre, to bring a whole world of entertainment to our customers.”
