Streaming service Showmax is gearing up for the launch of its new platform, Showmax 2.0, on February 12, 2024. In preparation for that, Showmax has announced the new international TV shows that will be available on its platform for February.
The new International TV shows that you’ll be able to watch on Showmax in February include 1st seasons of Ted, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, Found; new seasons of Halo, The Rookie; box sets of The Office & Parks and Rec. Also look out for Kenya born multi-award winner Arap Bethke in Showmax’s first-ever Telemundo offering Buscando a Frida (The Search for Frida).
Here are some of the international series that you can watch in February on Showmax.
TED S1 | First on Showmax | Binge from 12 February
Ted (Seth MacFarlane) is back in an all new prequel series in which the foul-mouthed bear is forced to navigate high school alongside his best friend John (Max Burkholder).
It’s 1993, and Ted the bear’s moment of fame has passed. He’s now living back home in Framingham, Massachusetts with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennet, along with John’s parents, Matty and Susan, and cousin Blaire. Ted may be a lousy influence on John, but at the end of the day, he’s a loyal pal who’s always willing to go out on a limb for friendship.

HALO S2 | First on Showmax | 2 eps on 12 February, then weekly
Based on one of the highest-grossing gaming franchises of all time, Halo is set amid an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant.
Pablo Schreiber stars as cybernetically enhanced super-soldier Master Chief John-117. In Season 2, John will risk everything to prove what no one else will believe – that the Covenant are preparing to attack humanity’s greatest stronghold. With the galaxy on the brink, John embarks on a journey to find the key to humankind’s salvation, or its extinction — the Halo.
Joseph Morgan (The Originals, Vampire Diaries) joins the cast this season, while Natascha McElhone (Californication) returns as Dr. Halsey. Steven Spielberg is an executive producer on the series.
LAWMEN: BASS REEVES S1 | First on Showmax | Weekly from 12 February
David Oyelowo stars as Bass Reeves, a slave who became the first Black U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi, arresting more than 3,000 outlaws during the course of his career.
The Paramount series’ supporting cast includes the likes of Donald Sutherland and Dennis Quaid.
THE OFFICE S1-9 | Binge from 12 February
The Office follows the everyday work lives and cringe-worthy antics of the staff at the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company.
If the original British version made Ricky Gervais a household name, the American version did the same for the likes of Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski and Mindy Kaling.
THE ROOKIE S5 | Binge from 22 February
The LAPD’s oldest rookie, John Nolan, played by Nathan Fillion, is ready to take on a new role as The Rookie enters its fifth season. But first, he’ll have to face off once again with serial killer Rosalind Dyer (the late Annie Wersching).
Lisseth Chavez joins the cast this season as rookie Celina Juarez. Also look out for guest appearances from the likes of Kelly Clarkson and a crossover event with The Rookie: Feds in episode 21.
FOUND S1 | First On Showmax | Stream from 12 February, with new eps on Thursdays
Found centres on recovery specialist Gabi Mosely and her crisis management team as they work tirelessly to find missing people forgotten by the system. But this everyday hero is hiding a chilling secret of her own.
Created by Nigerian-American Nkechi Okoro Carroll, Found stars Shanola Hampton opposite the likes of Kelli Williams, Brett Dalton and Mark-Paul Gosselaar.
PARKS & RECREATION S1-7 | Binge from 12 February
Parks and Recreation is set in the Parks and Recreation Department of Pawnee, Indiana and follows a relentlessly perky mid-level bureaucrat, Leslie Knope (played by Amy Poehler), and her tireless efforts to make her quintessentially American town just a little bit more fun.
The cast included the likes of Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Adam Scott, Rob Lowe, Aziz Ansari and Chris Pratt, with even Joe Biden and Michelle Obama making guest appearances.
FUNNY WOMAN S1 | First on Showmax | Stream from 12 February, with new episodes on Thursdays
Funny Woman tells the story of Blackpool beauty queen Barbara Parker as she tries to make it in London at the height of the Swinging Sixties. Gemma Arterton stars as Parker.
Directed by Oliver Parker, the six-part series is based on Nick Hornby’s bestselling novel Funny Girl and adapted by British comedian Morwenna Banks, who co-stars. The cast also includes Tom Bateman, David Threlfall and Rupert Everett.
SAS ROGUE HEROES S1 | First On Showmax | Stream from 12 February, with new eps on Thursdays
SAS Rogue Heroes is a “mostly true” account of how arguably the world’s greatest special forces unit was formed under extraordinary circumstances in the darkest days of World War II.
ACCUSED S1 | Binge from 21 February 2023
Accused centres on the defendant in a different court case in each episode.
FULL CIRCLE | Binge from 1 February
Full Circle centres on an investigation into a botched kidnapping, which uncovers long-held secrets connecting multiple characters and cultures in New York City.
It is inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 classic, High and Low.

Killing It, from the creative team behind Brooklyn Nine-Nine, is a comedy about class, capitalism and one man’s quest to achieve the American dream. And also about hunting really big snakes.

Bupkis is fictionalised version of the life of Pete Davidson, which has already drawn comparisons to Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm and Louis C.K.’s Louie.
Edie Falc plays Pete’s mother, with Joe Pesci as his grandfather, alongside Bobby Cannavaleand Ray Romano. Also look out for guest appearances from the likes of Al Gore, Jon Stewart, Method Man, Nathan Fillion, Steve Buscemi, and J.J. Abrams.
ALERT: MISSING PERSONS UNIT S1 | Binge from 27 February
As Detective Nikki Batista in Alert: Missing Persons Unit, Dania Ramirez, joins the Philadelphia Police Department’s Missing Person’s Unit after her son, Keith, goes missing. Along with her partner and ex-husband, Detective Jason Grant (Scott Caan), Nikki works tirelessly to help other people find their loved ones, even as she searches for her own.
RUN THE WORLD S2 | Binge from 26 February
Run the World follows a group of successful Black women living in the Upper Manhattan district of Harlem.
The second and final season picks up with Whitney (Amber Stevens West) anxiously awaiting the fate of her relationship, while Sondi (Corbin Reid) and Renee (Bresha Webb) are reminded that it’s never a bad time to choose yourself.

Telemundo’s Buscando a Frida (aka The Search for Frida) follows the Pons family, whose lives are thrown into disarray when teenager Frida is kidnapped at a club on the night of her father’s birthday, triggering a dangerous game of cat and mouse with the kidnappers and unearthing the family’s darkest secrets.
