The inaugural edition of the NBO Film Festival take place between 26th January 2017 to 5th February 2017. The festival is a brain child of Mbithi Masya and Sheba Hirst and aims to grow cinema-going audiences in Nairobi.

The main feature of the festival will be the award winning film KATI KATI, which was directed and co-written by Mbithi Masya. Other Kenyan films that will be showcased include Battle of the
Sacred Tree, Nairobi Half Life, From A Whisper, Mad Love and a catalogue of selected
Kenyan short films.
The films will be screened at the Prestige Plaza Cinemas and at The Elephant, in Lavington.
