Mwanamkuu Sudi was sworn in yesterday as magistrate in the Kenyan judiciary becoming the first Muslim woman to be appointed to the position. While announcing the appointment on Twitter, Chief Justice Dr. Willy Mutunga urged other Muslim women lawyers to apply for the same position.
Mwanamkuu has a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Nairobi, Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, Diploma in Project Management from the Kenya Institute of Management and a Masters Degree in Women Law from the University of Zimbabwe.
She was previously working as an advocate with Munyithya, Mutugi Umara & Muzna Company Advocates.
