Some years back like most Kenyans I had a kaside hustle, it involved making numerous calls per day as I tried to push my products. As you can imagine I had to keep buying scratch cards and woe unto you if you happened to forget to top up and you were in a remote area. At that point in time one would have two choices, send as many please call me messages as possible hoping one your friends calls back and is actually willing to sambaza you some credit or kopa credo. Since I had unreliable friends I used to kopa credo when the need arose but it used to be somewhat inconveniencing. This is more so if you had borrowed airtime and somehow forgot about it and just when you top up hoping to make an important phone call. A text would land informing you that almost all the airtime that you had topped up has been used to repay your kaloan, you can just imagine the frustration.
This continued until one day a friend noticed my struggle and advised me to join the Safaricom postpaid tariff then known as Karibu post pay. Since then I haven’t looked back and today I am going to share with you some of the reasons why you should join the Advantage Plus postpaid tariff if you haven’t done so already;
Platinum club membership
Launched in 2014, the Safaricom platinum club was designed to cater for its high spending clientele. The perks of joining this club include a personal relationship manager, an opportunity to preview and sample new devices before they are available to the public and of course access to the Safaricom Platinum Lounge located at the Safaricom retail center in Sarit Center. Most importantly membership entitles you to priority assistance at Safaricom shops which basically means you get to skip the long queues hooray.
Control over airtime expense
Before I got on the postpaid tariff, I used to spend thousands of shillings on airtime unknowingly and it was hard to budget for the same. With the postpaid tariff you can choose among the plans for the one which works best for you that is Advantage Plus Superior for Kshs.2, 999, Advantage Plus Premium for Kshs.4, 999 and Advantage Plus VIP for Kshs.9, 999. This helps you to budget because unless you have exceeded your bundle at which you will receive a notification, the amount of money that you will spend for talk time in a month will be let’s say Kshs.3, 000 if you are on the Superior tariff. Also at every end month you get a statement which shows how you spent your resources over the month.
Convenience
This in my case was the biggest reason which made me join the postpaid tariff. This is basically the peace of mind that comes with knowing that you do not have to keep loading your phone with scratch cards in order to talk. If you have a busy schedule many are the times that you will forget to load your phone with airtime and it might be just when you have that important call to make. Imagine a scenario where you are talking to an important client trying to close a deal worth millions then your airtime decides to end unceremoniously. The embarrassment!!! Just save yourself from the hustle of not having airtime and join Advantage Plus.
Value for money
Unless you are filthy rich you should always be on the lookout for deals that can save you money. The Advantage Plus tariff is one such deal which guarantees that you get the maximum value for your money. Take the Advantage Plus Superior for instance Kshs.2, 999 which guarantees you 1,500 minutes of airtime on all networks, 1,500 sms’s and 3GB of data. If you are using a prepay line the same would cost you about Kshs.6,000 for the talk time at Kshs.4 per minute, Kshs.1,500 for the sms’s and Kshs.1,000 for the 3GB of data which adds up to Kshs.8,500. As such joining Advantage Plus Superior would help you save a cool Kshs.5, 500 an amount which you can otherwise spend on buying a gift for a loved one, fuel, shopping among other things. This tariff has to be the deal of the year, so don’t say no one told you.
