In a move that is going to change beer consumption in the country, East African Breweries Limited (EABL) has launched an online drinks delivery portal drinksdelivered.co.ke for selling and home-delivering its premium brands.

The drinks delivery portal went live and functional on the 28th of November but had the official launch on the 11th of December at Caramel club. Consumers are able to order by calling 0704 247 247 and viewing the full list of offerings on the online platform.

Speaking during the launch EABL’s Reserve Brands Commercial Manager Charles Weru noted the consumers’ desire for more information online for their preferred brand necessitated the move which would eventually lead to an increase in sales through its delivery service.

With a waiting period of two hours within Nairobi and a maximum of 48 hours outside Nairobi (60km from the Central Business District), the company’s strategic goal is to allow consumers to have premium and luxury spirits brands whenever and wherever they would like to have them.

Products on the portal have been priced at the recommended retail price and purchases above Sh 3000 will not incur any delivery costs.

For security purposes payments will be made before delivery – by mobile money transfers (both Safaricom and Airtel) or by online payment – credit or debit cards.

“The reception has been overwhelming, we did not anticipate the amount of enquiries and orders during the first week as was received…we are now doing an average of 6 – 7 deliveries daily around the city. We anticipate that this number will increase as we get into the festive season.” said Mr. Weru

With the festive season taking high gear, the portal could not have come at a better time. Having drinks delivered to the customer’s convinience will save them a lot of time and money plus allow one to plan for their parties and events efficiently.
