Flower Power 2013

You have finally climbed up the social ladder and made a name for yourself. Next step is acting like a socialite. [Read part 1 here]

Here goes nothing

1. Choose a good name

This is vital to your “socialite” identity. Make sure it rolls out of the tongue and catches attention, since that’s what you seek (or maybe not). Look the name. And please avoid stripper names.

2. Become interested in expensive stuff

Avoid as much as possible free event and those below 1000 bob. Also make sure you tweet via iphone, ipad or something jisty and expensive like that. Know all the big brand names, this will come very handy. Pronunciation is very important, especially for terms like Gucci and LV in full <~ why should I know the full name.

3. Break the nouveau riche stereotype

I didn’t know what that was, but you should. Apparently, going by what’s given on the page, “Nouveau riche” is an often derogatory term used to describe the upper class people who don’t come from a wealthy family and achieved their fortune through work, not heritage. Break that stereotype.

4. BE sophisticated

Apparently lack of sophistication is a crime in socialite circles. Leave your mahindi choma and mutura roots behind. In fact when laughing about this article with fellow socialite friends act like you don’t know what I just wrote.

5. Travel a lot

The best way to travel is to read a book, but don’t think this will apply in your case. Act like you been there or read the book but don’t show you did, that’s simpler according to me.

6. Be generous

This shall not be read the wrong way *wink wink*. We should go with being charitable.

7. Socialize

You will get paid to go for events. GO.

The last part is surviving in your new found fame. Watch out for Part 3
