The windows app store is not as robust as the android version but it does come with it’s share of free apps. Most of the apps are also available on the android platform. I recently got a Nokia Lumia 520 and here are some of the great apps that I got for free.
The Twitter app is pretty cool on the Windows mobile OS, though I am not a fan of the fact that it does not automatically show images on tweets like its Android counterpart
WhatsApp Messenger is a smartphone messenger available for Windows Phone, Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, and Nokia phones.
Google
Bing is the windows default search engine but if you’re a google person there is the google search app that allows you to search the web faster and easier with some feature features such as Google Autocomplete, My Location, and Voice Search.
Adobe Reader
If you need to read pdf files on your mobile then this is your app.
gMaps
This is for getting google maps on your Windows mobile platform.
Some of the main features include:
– Find your location on the map and track current speed
– Layers support (street, satellite, traffic, bike, weather, etc)
– Search for venues using powerful local search
My Notes
It is one of the best note taking app for Windows Phone. It allows you to quickly and easily create, edit and have quick access to all your notes.
Youtube
This is an app to directly watch Youtube videos on your Windows Mobile phone.
UC Browser
