Qualcomm has unveiled its new flagship chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, using a 4nm build process.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is an octa-core processor that Qualcomm claims is 20% faster features improvements. These include Hyper Intelligence, Super Resolution, Motion Estimation, Battery Efficiency, Improved 5G connectivity (10Gbps max download speed) and improved Image Signal Processor(Triple ISP + an extra Always-on ISP). This can crunch through 40,000% camera data with the ability to shoot 8K HDR 10+ footage(continuous 64MP recording), cinematic video at 4K and Mega Night mode among other features.

Following the launch of the new chip, several smartphone brands have shared which of their devices will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

1. OPPO Find X4 Pro

OPPO took to Weibo to share that the Find X4 Pro will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. This is the company’s first official news regarding its flagship device. According to reports, the device will also feature 80W fast charging.

2. Xiaomi 12

Xiaomi has also announced that the Xiaomi 12 will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The device is expected to be launched later in December 2021 in China, with a global launch scheduled for early next year.

3. Motorola Edge X30

Motorola Edge X30 will be the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered device as it will launch on December 9th in China. The device will have a flat 6.67 inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. It will also come with a 5000mAh battery and support 68.2W fast charging.

4. Realme GT 2 Pro

Realme will also launch the GT 2 Pro that will run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Realme GT 2 Pro will have 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UF 3.1 storage. The device will also feature a 5.51″ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.

5. OnePlus 10

The upcoming OnePlus 10 will ship with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Specifications include a curved 6.7 inch Quad HD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate screen. Other features include 128/256GB UFS 3.1 storage and 8/12GB LPDDR5 RAM. The OnePlus 10 will ship with Android 12 and OxygenOS 12. It will also have a 5000mAh battery with 125W fast charging.

6. Vivo X80 Series, Vivo Nex 4

Vivo X80 series that succeed the Vivo X70 series will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Vivo Nex 4 will also run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

iQOOO, Vivo’s sub-brand also shared that the iQOO 9 series will ship with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
