The 4th edition of the Nairobi Tech Week (NTW) is set to take place as from tomorrow April 24th to April 26th 2019 at the Strathmore University. GIZ – Make IT Africa are this year’s title sponsors. The theme of the event will be “Technology in Africa: The Past, The Present and The Future” and will delve into the evolution of technology in Africa, the various solutions being applied in the African context and the exciting opportunities yet to be capitalized on as we navigate the digital revolution.

NTW is one of Sub-Saharan Africa’s largest annual technology event for product makers and brings together various actors and influencers within the tech ecosystem to one space to exhibit the forefront of innovation and technology. Powered by Moringa School, NTW will take place over 3 days and bring together over 1500 members of the technology ecosystem to exhibit the forefront of innovation.

This year the event will include 3 days of hands-on workshops, panels, roundtables, research presentation sessions and a 2-day hackathon with a focus on the people who build and run technology products. Technologies to be covered under this year’s theme include: Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Platforms, Internet of Things (IoT), Microservices, Technopreneurship, Data Science, and Product Development Tools.

Audrey Cheng, CEO of Moringa School, had this to say “Nairobi Tech Week is an extension of our mission, and we are excited to bring together top talent across Africa to learn, build and innovate in a focused environment! NTW started in 2016 because of our commitment to celebrating product makers and we are thrilled to bring it back again in 2019.”
