Talented afro-pop singer, Dela Maranga is set to treat her fans to an evening of lively music performances as she celebrates the release of her second album, Public Demand. The album launch will be on 30th April from 6PM at The Alchemist, Westlands. Entry is free.

Dela is the voice behind hits such as Mafeelings, Paza Sauti, Weche Tek and Ulivyo. Her interest in music began at the tender age of 7 and she eventually ventured into professional singing. She started out as a background singer working with stars like Achieng’ Obura, Eric Wainaina, Sauti Sol and the Villagers’ Band. After which she pursued a solo career and was signed to Penya Africa. While working with them she dropped her first album Paukwa at age 19.

Currently, Dela is signed to Taurus Musik who she worked with on her latest album. Public Demand features an array of both local and international producers and artists on its 12 tracks. The themes explored in the album include: love, pain and sociopolitical issues. For example, Paza Sauti, the 5th track on the album was a message of encouragement to Kenyans during the election time; that they have a role to play and the power to push for the change needed in our society.
