Safaricom last night launched a new bundle for internet, calls and SMS called FLEX. The product targets people who use a lot of resources on internet, calls and SMS every month.
FLEX will enable customers to get units which will then enable to get a combination of internet, calls and SMS. It has three options:
- FLEX Daily – Offering 115 FLEX Units at Ksh. 99Â
115 flex points gets you a maximum of 345 MBs or 38 minutes or 345 SMS
2. Weekly FLEX – Offering 700 FLEX Units at Ksh. 599
700 flex points gets you a maximum of 2GB or 233 minutes or 2,100 SMS
3. Monthly FLEX – Offering 3,100 FLEX Units at Ksh. 2,499
3,100 flex points gets you a maximum of 9GB or 1,033 minutes or 9,100 SMS
1 FLEX unit is equivalent to 3MB of data, a 20 seconds call, or a three SMSs. Customers will be able to use the bundle to make calls to all networks in Kenya.
The FLEX bundle is available to both Prepaid and postpaid Safaricom customers. However, those on Advantage Plus and Karibu Postpay will have to terminate those tariffs on their accounts before using FLEX. To subscribe, customers should dial *100# for pre-paid and *200# for Postpaid.
Customers who have an active FLEX bundle will get 3 FLEX units every time they send money through M-PESA for transactions above Ksh. 100. The units awarded for M-PESA usage will be valid for 24 hours.
