Orange Kenya has finally rolled out its 3G network to Kajiado County. The Kenyan telco has so far commissioned 41 new 3G sites and the plan is roll out to all the 47 counties in Kenya. The company is looking to expand uptake of its data services and hence the shift to 3G.

The investment in the 3G network is apparently already bearing fruit according to the CEO Vincent Lobry, Orange Telkom CEO as the subscriber base and revenues have grown significantly. Also, according to the Communications Authority (CA) report, Orange Kenya’s total subscriptions gained 11.3 percent to reach 3.3 million from 3.0 million.

Orange Kenya’s data offering is well priced and they even have an unlimited package for mobile phones/tablets (Ksh. 990) and for computers (Ksh. 2,990).
