Just from being crowned the winners of the Best African Act at the 2014 MTV EMA, Kenyan band Sautisol have gone a step further and released the remix to their recent hit “Sura Yako” bringing in Nigerian recording artist Iyanya. Iyanya is best known for winning the 2008 MTN Project Fame West Africa as well as for his song “Kukere”.
The song which has been on replay in almost all radio and TV stations across the country also introduced us to the Lipala dance, currently still a growing global movement.
The video is shot by Enos Olik & Bokeh Family, the same team behind the hot Nishike video that has now earned Sautisol a nomination for Most Gifted Video from East Africa at the upcoming 2014 Channel O Music Video Awards.
By winning the Best African Act, Sauti Sol also qualified for the Worldwide Act award category with voting open from 12:00 CAT on Thursday 23 October and closing at 00:59 CAT on Wednesday 29 October.
