Occupy parliament

I’m sure most of you have heard about Occupy Parliament. Though it is mostly infamous for the pigs. Do you know much about the message and reason for protest? Well, despite all the protest outside parliament the Members of Parliament still went on with their battle against the Salaries and Remunerations Committee to have their salaries increased. With the current economic climate and the high government wage bill this is considered a difficult time to increase expenditure on wages but that seems to fall on deaf ears.

Occupy Parliament Reloaded is set for June 11th 2013 with the meeting point at Freedom Corner from 12 noon.

According to a post by WanjikuRevolution “The best gift that Kenyans can give their country for its jubilee anniversary is to reject the excesses by MPs in the 11th Parliament, the house that has distinguished itself as a symbol of what’s gone wrong with our politics over the past 50 years.”

Boniface Mwangi via his twitter page wrote ” They will be no animals at occupy parliament reloaded. Carry lots of coins, drinking water and the Kenyan flag”
