When it comes to mobile phone plans, there are two types that is postpaid and prepaid. Postpaid plans means that  one pays a fixed amount of money at the end of each month. This is in exchange for a set amount of calls/texts/data to use during the billing period. On the other hand, under the prepaid plan, one pays for the calls, text and data as they go.

I happen to have enrolled into the Ksh. 1,000 plan a few years ago and let me tell maina, i have never looked back. Over time, i have managed to get a couple of my friends on the plan as it is such a breeze to operate as opposed to topping up every other day in order to communicate.

Here are some of the benefits of the Safaricom post paid plan;

1.Convenience

One thing that made me fall in love with the postpaid plan is the fact that i did not have to worry about running out of credit especially while making important calls. Imagine being on call with an important client and the call dropping due to lack of credit, how embarrassing would it be?

If you value convenience and not having to worry about your credit running out at the worst possible time, then the postpaid plans is for you.

2. It is easy to enroll

Safaricom has really made the postpay products simple in a way that everyone interested in it finds it easier to sign up . All you need to do is Dial *544# or opt-in through the MySafaricom app.

Once you are in, you are required to type in your email address and your preferred plan. Once you confirm all that and agree with the terms and conditions, you will be on the Postpay plan.

For those who purchase the Platinum product one-off, they can select, the All-In-One plans, on MySafaricom App or by dialing *544# and selecting option 3 “Normal Data Bundle WITH EXPIRY” then option 1 which is “All in One Bundle.”

2. International Calls

Safaricom seeks to make phone calls to other countries a straightforward process. Therefore, with any of the Postpay plan, the minutes bundled up can be used to connect with friends and family members living abroad. So far, Postpay is limited to four countries that are India, the USA, Canada, and China.

3. Flexibility

The Post paid plan also grants you, the user, the power to easily choose your preferred limits by either increasing or decreasing your limit and simply to exit anytime you wish to. All that can be done through the Safaricom app or through the *544# shortcode.

4. No Expiry

Just like the Prepay plan, Postpay bundles have no expiry. This means that if by chance you didn’t exhaust your package, the remaining resources will be carried forward to the next month.

5. Value For Money

Subscribers on the postpaid plans usually call at lower rates than those on the prepaid tariffs. This means that at the end of the day one will have made some savings under the communication budget. Which is a huge plus especially in these tough economic times.
