Kenya has vibrant cities that never stop buzzing with activity. You don’t even have to dig that deep into the internet to find something to keep you busy on a weekday evening or the weekend.

There are a number of things to do to fill up your time. You can spend time with your friends and family at events such as music concerts, spoken word sessions and more are happening this month.

We have compiled events that you should attend in August;

1. Slip n Slide

2. Music, Italian Wine and Heels

3. Reggae in the Sun 9th Edition

A reggae concert featuring performances by local Kenyan artists and bands.

4. Strathmore International Mathematics Conference

Strathmore International Mathematics Conference will cover areas like Pure MathematicsBio-mathematical modeling, Mathematical Finance and Economics, Statistical Modeling, Data Science and computational intelligence, Mathematics Education.

5. Tuvibe Fashion Show

A fashion show and fashion event featuring designers showcase, runway and spoken word to create awareness for domestic violence.

6. Because You Said So (BYSS)

An improv comedy show featuring Mugambi Nthiga, June Gachui, Patricia Kihoro and others. This will be their anniversary event.

7. Muay Thai Fight Night

Muay Thai is a martial art form that found its roots in Thailand and has steadily been gaining traction across the globe. In Nairobi, Kenya, Ultra Fight Series presents Muay Thai Fight Night 5 this August.

8. Beerathon – Beer Games and Entertainment

A non-competitive event for beer enthusiasts. There will be Games, Music and food on site.

9. A Different Kind of Groove

A live music concert that targets jazz enthusiasts, and lovers of pop and reggae. The features artists are Kevin Irungu, Moses Otieno, Steve Muindi and Brill Kenneth.

10. Ink Overflow Comedy Night

A rib cracking stand up comedy show hosted by Ciku and Shaaz. It happens every 1st Thursday of the month.

11. Madaraka Festival

Celebration of cultural freedom through live music, a film festival, and workshops. Featured artists include Musa Jakadala, Bensoul, CBK Music, Karun, Nafsi Huru, Nazizi and Soul Purpose, Nairobi Horns Project.

12. Art in Motion

Art In Motion Show is a one hour modern dance show.

13. Mammals of the Museum

When: 24th August 2019

An edutainment event that starts with a visit to the “Great Hall of Mammals” gallery followed by story time and arts and crafts. Snacks and craft materials will be provided.

Parents and guardians are allowed to stick around and participate. (The parents/guardians will have to pay for their entry to the museum).

Recommended age is 5-12 years. Children younger than 5 will have to be accompanied by a guardian.

14. Respect the Process
